Power is on but visible mist is weak or absent

Honeywell HUL545 Has Power but Little or No Mist

Honeywell's HUL525/HUL545 troubleshooting table gives a model-specific no-mist list: an empty tank, mineral deposits on the nebulizer, a mist setting that is too low, auto shutoff, or an optional demineralization cartridge that has reached the end of its service life. The HUL545 is supposed to produce visible cool mist, so persistent no-mist output after those checks is not normal evaporative behavior.

Water leaks from the tank/base area or forms a puddle under the humidifier

Honeywell HUL545 Is Leaking Water

Honeywell's HUL545 troubleshooting table narrows a leak to four external checks before anything else: tank damage, a loose tank cap, a missing tank-cap gasket, or an unlevel surface. Dry the unit and the table before retesting so you can tell a fresh tank/base leak from condensation caused by excessive mist output. Do not seal the cap with tape or substitute an improvised gasket.

Condensation, wet windows, damp furniture, or moisture collecting around the room

Honeywell HUL545 Causes Condensation on Windows or Nearby Surfaces

Honeywell treats condensation around the HUL545 differently from a tank leak. Its troubleshooting table says the mist intensity can simply be too high for the room size or current humidity. The corrective direction is to lower mist output or open the room door. Placement matters too: Honeywell instructs owners to keep the unit on a firm water-resistant surface, at least 12 inches from walls, and aim mist away from walls, bedding, and furniture.

White mineral dust, powder, or film appears on nearby surfaces

Honeywell HUL545 Leaves White Dust on Furniture

White dust from the HUL545 is a water-mineral problem, not evidence that the humidifier is 'burning' something. Honeywell's troubleshooting table points to mineral content in hard water and recommends diluting tap water with distilled water; its support guidance likewise explains that ultrasonic humidifiers can aerosolize minerals. The optional demineralization cartridge can reduce dust, but the water source remains the first variable to change.
