On this model, not seeing mist is normally expected. The HCM350 is evaporative and disperses invisible moisture.

Water level not dropping

The first checks are the wick, room humidity, and how the tank/upper enclosure are seated.

Brown/rust-colored wick

Discoloration alone does not automatically mean the wick has failed; mineral deposits can change its color.
