AIRCARE EP9500 / EP9800 Has No Visible Mist

That is normal for the Pedestal EP-series. It is evaporative, so the 1043 wick and fan release invisible moisture rather than an ultrasonic fog plume.
CF means “check filter/wick.” AIRCARE says this reminder is programmed at about 720 hours on many evaporative models.
A flashing F means “fill”: the Pedestal needs water.
When F remains with water present, check the float/float rod and make sure the unit is level so the water-level mechanism can read correctly.
The EP-series “20” display means the sensed humidity is below 20%, not an error code.
The EP-series dash display indicates humidity above about 90%, not a sensor fault by itself.
Before suspecting an internal fault, check that the 1043 wick and float rod are installed correctly and that the humidistat has not already reached its target.
The Pedestal uses the 1043 SuperWick. AIRCARE recommends replacement based on water quality and wick condition rather than trying to wash and reuse the paper wick.
