Dry the area first, then trace where fresh water begins
“Leaking” can mean a cracked tank, bad cap/valve seal, excess base water, poor tank seating, condensation from too much humidity, or a true powered-base leak. Dry-source tracing prevents the wrong fix.

Avoid: Do not improvise gaskets, tape cracked tanks, or overtighten beyond the normal lock position.

Avoid: Do not add more water to “prime” an already overfilled base.
Moisture forms on walls/windows/furniture while room RH or mist output is high.

Avoid: Do not replace the tank before proving the moisture is liquid leakage.
Fresh water emerges from the electrical base after tank/feed/condensation causes are ruled out.

The diagnosis is complete when the source is physically located. Tank/feed/condensation problems can follow exact-model guidance; water emerging from the powered base is a stop-use issue.
